Job summary

The Student Coordinator supports a welcoming and safe learning environment for students and families in The People’s Music School's program. They help the Program Manager by ensuring classrooms are prepared and by supervising students to promote orderly transitions.

This part-time role requires reliable attendance, adaptability for after-school hours, and strong communication with families. Some evenings and weekends for events may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Collaborative team member.
• Understanding of a busy school environment.
• Experience supervising young children.
• Extremely reliable with consistent attendance and professionalism.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must pass Chicago Public Schools background check.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven experience collaborating and working with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
• Personal commitment to the mission and values of The People's Music School.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down classrooms.
• Collect donations from families and track service hours.
• Greet families and students and uphold TPMS Community value.
• Check in students and guide them to locations.
• Check out students and escort to guardians.
• Supervise bathroom breaks and class transitions.
• Report concerns to Program Manager.
• Support additional projects as assigned.
