Job summary

Pacific University seeks a Student Community Partner Liaison for the McCall Center for Civic Engagement at AuCoin Hall on the Forest Grove Campus. The role supports community partners and the Civic Action Team through event planning, communications, and outreach.

As part of the MCCE team, you will gain professional skills in volunteer recruitment, program coordination, marketing, and written/verbal communication, while developing leadership and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Interest in civic engagement (service, advocacy, elections, activism)
• Interest in working with diverse student groups and community partners
• Good oral and written communication skills, with ability to listen and build rapport
• Good time management skills with initiative and follow-through
• Experience or interest in using communications platforms and software (email, blog, Canva, Google Docs, MS Office)
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from others
• Ability to represent the Center and university with diplomacy
• Demonstrated commitment to Civic Engagement through volunteering or coursework

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events with community partners and participate in planning work groups
• Create and maintain content for MCCE communications (website, newsletter, social media)
• Draft articles, posts, flyers, and edit documents for partners to connect with students and staff
• Monitor and promote upcoming civic engagement events and opportunities
• Assist staff with programs and general office duties in the Center
• Perform additional duties as assigned
