Job summary

Dent-Phelps R-III School District is seeking a student-centered instructional leader to serve as Principal for the 2027-2028 school year. Our rural PK-8 district is committed to academic growth, a positive school culture, and strong partnerships with families and the community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate instructional leadership, MTSS expertise, staff development skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Strong instructional leadership with data-driven instruction and curriculum alignment.
• Experience leading MTSS with universal screening, interventions, and progress monitoring.
• Staff development and supervision including observation, feedback, coaching, and accountability.
• Ability to build trust, promote belonging, and maintain consistent student behavior expectations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with students, families, staff, and community.

Responsibilities

• Lead MTSS implementation across PK-8 to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Oversee daily district operations and ensure a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Coach and observe instructional staff, provide feedback and professional growth opportunities.
• Foster strong partnerships with families and community partners.
• Promote a positive culture that supports every learner, including diverse learners.
