Reports To: Associate Superintendent or Designated Administrator

Position Summary: The Farmington R-VII School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educational leader to serve as Principal. The Principal provides instructional leadership, supervises and evaluates staff, oversees daily building operations, and promotes a safe, supportive, and academically successful learning environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, sound decision-making, and a commitment to student achievement and continuous school improvement. The Principal will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, families, District administration, and community members to support the mission and goals of the Farmington R-VII School District.

Education and Experience:

• Master's degree in educational leadership, school administration, or a related field required.
• Valid Missouri principal or appropriate administrator certification for grades 9-12.
• Successful teaching experience required.
• Previous school administrative or leadership experience preferred.
• Must meet all applicable Missouri certification and District employment requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership to improve teaching practices, student learning, and academic achievement.
• Develop, implement, and monitor school improvement goals, instructional programs, and curriculum initiatives.
• Supervise, observe, evaluate, and support the professional growth of assigned staff in accordance with District procedures.
• Assist with recruiting, selecting, assigning, and retaining qualified personnel.
• Establish and maintain a positive school climate that promotes student engagement, respectful behavior, and academic success.
• Implement and consistently enforce student discipline in accordance with district policies and procedures, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all students.
• Monitor student achievement, attendance, behavior, and other data to identify needs and guide school improvement efforts.
• Support the delivery of special education services, Section 504 accommodations, and other required student support services.
• Maintain a safe and secure school environment and coordinate emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, staffing, building management, student activities, and resource allocation.
• Assist with developing and monitoring the building budget and managing school resources responsibly.
• Maintain accurate student, personnel, and administrative records and complete required reports.
• Ensure compliance with Board policies, District procedures, applicable Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements, and relevant federal and state laws.
• Establish positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, guardians, and community members.
• Communicate effectively with District administration regarding school operations, student needs, personnel matters, and building concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
