Job summary

Warner Pacific University is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to support daily financial aid operations in a Christian liberal arts setting. You will counsel students and families, analyze need, package aid, verify FAFSA data, and present at campus events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in higher education.
• At least three years of professional office experience.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Exercise discretion and interpretation of federal and institutional policies and regulations for student needs.
• Provide one-on-one financial counseling and eligibility information to students and/or parents.
• Review documents, perform need analysis, and award financial aid packages.
• Verify FAFSA information and prepare aid reports for packaging.
• Present at events for prospective and new students and staff requests.
• Counsel on borrowing limits and graduation exit requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operations.
• Assist in managing outstanding account balances and payment plans.
• Assist with Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling and Direct Lending guidance.
• Provide information on outside scholarship opportunities.
• Respond to inquiries about eligibility and verification in a timely manner.
• Stay current with NASFAA principles and university policies.
