Job summary

Wilson College seeks a Career Counselor to support undergraduate, graduate, and adult students and alumni with career exploration, coaching, and skill development. You will deliver individual appointments, workshops, and virtual resources to help with resumes, interviews, and job searches.

The role emphasizes building relationships with students, faculty, and employers, coordinating with the Alumni Office, and leveraging Handshake to connect students to opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master's in higher education or related field preferred.
• Experience advising, counseling, coaching, or supporting students in career development.
• Experience in higher education, career services, workforce development, or related environment preferred.
• Experience developing and facilitating workshops, presentations, programs, or other initiatives preferred.
• Experience with Handshake or a similar career platform preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide career advising and coaching through individual appointments, drop-ins, workshops, and events.
• Develop, deliver, and assess career development workshops and programs responsive to student needs.
• Assist students with resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, professional presentation, and job-search strategies.
• Coach students on effective job and internship search strategies.
• Collaborate with Alumni Office to develop career connections, networking opportunities, and resources for students.
