Job summary

Augusta University Career Services seeks a Career Advisor to provide career and professional development guidance to students and recent graduates across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. You will partner with employers, faculty, and campus services to facilitate career development initiatives that support AU students.

The role focuses on advising, program development, and employer relations, with opportunities to lead department-wide initiatives and coordinate career programming

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required in Counseling/Higher Education Administration/Human Resources or related area.
  • Experience in Career Services and higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advises students and recent graduates regarding career and personal development.
  • Identify and address student development issues, including motivation, career indecision, self-efficacy, and decision-making.
  • Educate students about tools, resources, and services for career planning and goal attainment.
  • Generate marketing materials to promote Career Services programs and resources.
  • Assist other departments with programs focused on student retention, career planning awareness and Career Services offerings.
  • Collaborate with academic programs, student support areas, and faculty to align career development resources for students.
  • Develop services, programs, workshops, and events for students' professional development and career preparation needs.
  • Manage career development programs, including job fairs, etiquette dinners, and graduate school planning.
  • Lead at least one department-wide program annually.
  • Research, plan, develop, and implement innovative programming and resources as market trends change.
  • Coordinate outreach, seminars, workshops, and programs based on student needs and faculty requests.
  • Advise faculty and college administrators on experiential learning and career development opportunities.
