Job summary

Ferris State University College of Business invites applications for a CAPS Customer Service Representative (Student Position) in Big Rapids, MI. You will support the front Career and Professional Success office by handling calls, emails, and in-person inquiries at the CAPS front desk.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with volunteer hours, approving events and Handshake postings, and assisting with daily tasks. A 2.5 GPA and local access to Ferris resources are expected.

Qualifications

• Compassion and interest in working with students, faculty, staff, and employers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Some technology proficiency with Microsoft products and Canva.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA.
• Driving record check will be run pursuant to university policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist all customers via phone, virtual, email, or in-person at CAPS front desk.
• Clean office areas and photobooth.
• Respond to CAPS department emails.
• Approve volunteer service hours.
• Post-volunteer service opportunities.
• Approve Handshake employers, jobs, and events.
• Participate in regular staff meetings.
• Advertise CAPS events.
• Assist CAPS Assistant with day-to-day tasks—handling mail, making purchases.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for innovative changes to ensure CAPS operates at a high level of customer service.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate programming including room and catering reservations, advertising, event setup, staffing events, and related tasks.
