Job summary

Oklahoma City Community College is seeking a part-time Event Setup Assistant - Student to prepare venues for campus events by arranging chairs, tables, and staging, ensuring spaces meet requirements.

This role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions, offering hands-on experience in event logistics as part of the Cultural Programs department.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of event setups and general office tasks.
• Physical ability to move and arrange furniture and equipment for events safely.
• Ability to read simple drawings and plans.
• Good organizational skills for event prep and clean-up.
• Basic problem-solving for handling unexpected situations during events and office tasks.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to different event setups.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service and communicate clearly.
• Able to relay information/messages accurately and stay positive when solving problems.
• Self-directed and motivated, able to initiate tasks and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate to complete event setups in public spaces, arranging and dismantling furniture and equipment.
• Lead post-event space resets, ensuring spaces are cleaned and left organized.
• Move, secure, and store event equipment; assist in its maintenance and organization.
• Assist with other projects and duties as assigned, including reception desk duties and document handling.
• Abide by Board of Regents and College Policies and Procedures; contribute to a safe environment.
• Participate in health and safety training and drills as required.
• Support department staff and allocate tasks to ensure timely event execution.
