Job summary

SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY seeks a Student Belonging and Success Specialist to advance student persistence by addressing belonging, inclusion, and non-academic experiences. This role partners with Academic Success & Achievement to design supportive strategies and outreach.

You will work with campus partners, supervise interns, coordinate programs like Dragons of Excellence, and help assess Belonging initiatives to improve retention and success across a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of professional experience in higher education, student support services, diversity and inclusion, student affairs, academic affairs, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build supportive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and student success.

Responsibilities

• Belonging-Centered Outreach to students referred through university processes.
• Collaborate with campus partners to develop belonging and inclusion strategies.
• Partner with Academic Success & Achievement on outreach for Navigate and AcMo processes.
• Coordinate outreach initiatives for identified student populations.
• Supervise Office of Equity and Inclusion interns and coordinate Dragons of Excellence.
