Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Mandatory biennial Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District
• Medication administration training provided by the District as needed
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment (phones, copiers, etc.)
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills
• Intermediate organizational skills
• Ability to work alone and with others
• Ability to implement behavior modification techniques
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of behavior strategies and emotional regulation of students in the classroom.
• Assist students with classroom activities, adapting the curriculum to individual needs and delivering to individuals or small groups.
• Maintain records of student progress and behavior in coordination with licensed staff, including reports and feedback.
• Follow licensed staff instructions for medication delivery orders when delegated by a registered school nurse.
• Prepare materials, paperwork, and documentation for licensed staff.
• Assist with classroom events such as fire drills as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
