Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Behavior Health Assistant to support students in the general education setting. The role involves tracking behaviors, implementing behavior plans, and working with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include direct behavioral support, data collection, and de-escalation in various school environments. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with no prior experience necessary.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to interact positively with students.
• Ability to assist students in a variety of situations that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Track behaviors of general education students identified by the SST through MTSS.
• Work with students identified by the SST who exhibit behavioral or emotional problems.
• Track student contracts for completion, signatures, etc.
• Promote positive behaviors and help de-escalate negative behaviors.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with teachers, social workers, psychologists, and other support personnel.
• Check on students to reinforce positive behavior in classrooms and other areas.
• Provide direct behavioral support by prompting, redirecting and encouraging positive behavior.
• Support targeted students in transitional or less structured environments.
• Assist and support students in crisis.
• Collect required data and share with the SST as needed.
