Job summary

• Maintain the standards of professional conduct and provide leadership to improve student learning.
• Excellent understanding of IDEA and LRBI procedures and related policies.
• Knowledge of Utah Core Standards and Proficiency Based Learning.
• Ability to develop effective functional behavior assessments and behavioral intervention plans.
• Works independently with little direct supervision; works as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Organize professional development for special education teachers.
• Provide coaching to special education teachers on developing functional behavior assessments and behavior plans.
• Provide support to school teams to ensure compliance with IDEA and USBE Special Education Rules.
• Provide ideas for data collection and progress monitoring on behavior.
• Participate in district level PLCs and committees.
• Provide training in the Mandt system, ESI procedures, LRBI, and related data collection for teachers and school teams.
• Support teachers in effective instruction and behavior strategies across service options from self-contained to inclusion models.
• Assist with eligibility determination, ABA strategies, IEP goal development, behavior strategies, and parent interaction with students on the autism spectrum.

Education

Professional Educator License (Utah) with Special Education License Area of Concentration

Equivalent license in another state or country
