Job summary

YES Prep is seeking a Behavior Support Assistant in Houston, TX to support students with behavior, monitor progress, and assist teachers in managing classroom dynamics throughout a 10-month term. The role emphasizes de-escalation, data tracking, and collaboration with the school team.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience working with students and student behavior.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Belief in and commitment to the mission of YES Prep Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Execute lower-level behavior interventions with students of concern.
• Progress monitor student behavior trackers.
• Conduct in-class push ins/pull outs for de-escalation and coping skills.
• Monitor students in detention and in-school suspension.
• Assist teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Model and reinforce positive behaviors and discipline strategies.
