Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas is hiring a Behavior Support Assistant for a 10-month, non-exempt hourly position. Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience working with students and student behavior.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Commitment to YES Prep Public Schools' mission and core values.

• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities

• Executing lower-level behavior interventions with students of concern, including check-ins and check-outs, student reflections and de-escalation.
• Helping progress monitor student behavior trackers.
• Conducting in-class push ins/pull outs to help with de-escalation and coping skills.
• Monitoring students in detention and in-school suspension.
• Performing discipline data entry.
• Assisting Teachers with the supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Assisting Teachers with behavior management techniques by demonstrating, modeling, and positively reinforcing desired behaviors.
• Monitoring students during transition times throughout the school day, inside and outside of the classroom, including hallways, cafeteria, gym, and other areas where students are present.
• Monitoring in-school suspension.
• Holding students accountable to campus behavioral expectations and administer appropriate consequences.
• Additional duties as assigned.
