Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, TX is seeking a Secondary Student Support Counselor for an 11-month school-year role to support student wellbeing and academic success. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to implement strategic interventions and maintain confidential records in YES Prep’s systems.

Responsibilities include conducting individual and group counseling, analyzing data to tailor supports, and collaborating with campus teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling.
• Licensure or credential within 6 months of employment is required.
• Post-internship experience in social work or counseling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish data-driven procedures to support students, families, and staff.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Input, review, and analyze student data to assign interventions.
• Report abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies promptly.
• Coordinate with campus staff and community partners to reduce barriers to achievement.
