Job summary

Wilbur Wright College seeks a Basic Needs and Housing Student Support Specialist (grant funded) to connect students with basic needs resources, housing options, and government programs. The role serves as the HOUSE liaison, advocating for students and coordinating referrals, community partnerships, and access to financial aid and support services.

The position oversees the Healthy Market operations, coordinates food distribution, liaises with GCFD and Facilities, and helps publicize services

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
Two years of work experience in social services or basic needs support or program development.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience providing basic needs programming or facilitating access to services as a caseworker is highly desirable.
Must obtain a Food Services Sanitation Manager Certificate within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Meet with students to identify needs and provide information on resources and referrals.
Assist with enrollment in public benefits programs and housing opportunities.
Coordinate presence of basic needs community partners on campus.
Oversee Healthy Market operations and food resource programs.
Build awareness and process for student referrals to HOUSE liaison and housing sources.
Partner with Institutional Research for required reporting.
