CalSTRS in West Sacramento, CA is seeking two student assistants for the Client Technology Services (CTS) Unit to support IT systems under supervision.

The California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) is seeking to hire two (2) student assistants in the Client Technology Services (CTS) Unit to work under the supervision of the Client Technology Services Supervisor. The student assistants will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of CalSTRS Information Technology systems.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Prerequisites

Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (fall, spring, and winter, if applicable) at an accredited college or university on our affiliation list.

Students must be enrolled in at least: six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting.

Majors/Fields of Study

Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Technology Infrastructure and Operations, Business Administration or similar field.

Work Schedule

F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. Hour's dependent on student's school schedule.

Compensation

$20.60 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with a strong work ethic.

Effective communication skills using email, telephone, instant messaging, web conferencing, and in-person communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Word and Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with Personal Computer (PC) configuration and Imaging.
• Configure various computer hardware setups.

Troubleshoot and support iOS mobile devices.

Troubleshoot and configure printers and related equipment.

Troubleshoot and configure Windows 10/11 systems.

• Update program documentation and job aids as needed.

Organize, track, and document hardware inventory and storage.

Create and maintain Knowledge Articles and update SharePoint documentation.

Update and maintain statistics and performance metrics using Excel.

Process forms and maintain accurate records.

Physical Requirements

Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
