Job summary

Ashland High School in Ashland, OR seeks a QSA Student Affinity Group Advisor for the 2025-26 schedule. The position coordinates and facilitates affinity groups for students, ensuring safe spaces and monthly meeting minimums of 150 minutes.

Qualifications

  • Current employees of the Ashland School District are strongly preferred.
  • If no current employee is able to lead an affinity group, a community member can be hired as an employee to fill this role.
  • Personally identify with the same affinity as students in the affinity group, or demonstrate a strong allyship for the particular affinity group.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate affinity group meetings that are safe and welcoming spaces for students; ensure meetings meet minimum monthly minutes.
  • Attend in-district orientation and regional meetings; collaborate with district and SOESD/Indian Ed specialists when needed.
  • Identify student participants, invite members, manage communications, and maintain confidential attendance records.
  • Plan activities within budget, arrange purchases/reimbursements, and vet reading materials with administrator oversight.
  • Communicate updates and advocacy needs to school administrators and community partners; represent the school professionally.
