Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a Business Services Specialist for the Student Affairs Business Services Center (SABSC). This role supervises payroll, purchasing and related activities for DoSA departments and all student organizations, coordinating with DoSA staff and campus units.

The position starts at $24.93 per hour, offers 14 days of vacation, tuition remission, and potential hybrid telework after six months of probation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six years progressively responsible experience in budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing and personnel.
• Note: 30 college credits may substitute for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll-related transactions for designated DoSA departments and student organizations.
• Oversee purchasing using Paw Procurement and purchasing cards for DoSA departments and student orgs.
• Monitor monthly financial data reconciliation and provide reports to SABSC leadership.
• Meet regularly with DoSA directors to review financial and personnel activities.
• Supervise SABSC office operations and student staff.
• Represent SABSC on committees and workgroups for DoSA leadership.
