Job summary

Bowie State University seeks a Student Accounts Manager to provide operational, administrative, and financial support for the Office of Student Accounts and University Central Cashiers. The role includes staff supervision, training, and ensuring accurate processing and reconciliation of student financial transactions.

The position serves as backup for critical payment operations, requires confidentiality and independent judgment, and collaborates with multiple university departments to maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1 year of accounts receivable experience.
• 2 years of accounting experience.
• 1 year with PeopleSoft or similar ERP.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of internal control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and oversee day-to-day office operations.
• Train staff in the Office of Student Accounts and Central Cashiers.
• Reconcile and resolve cashier payment issues.
• Collaborate with Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid and other departments to ensure accurate charges.
• Respond to audit inquiries as office liaison.
• Process student refunds promptly and accurately.
