Job summary

Penn State University’s Upward Bound Altoona is seeking a Program Advisor (Student Advocacy Specialist) to plan and run social, educational, and service-learning activities for program participants at Altoona-area high schools.

The ideal candidate will recruit students, advise on college readiness, coordinate with school districts and campus offices, and help students progress toward postsecondary education, focusing on low-income, first-generation students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience with TRIO programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and program students for grant-determined populations and events.
• Advise, tutoring, or referring participants on college readiness, financial aid, and services.
• Develop and implement academic year and summer programming per federal guidelines.
• Coordinate with school districts, partners, and campus offices.
