Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Program Advisor (Student Advocacy Specialist) for the Altoona area to support TRIO Upward Bound activities at Altoona Area High School. You will coordinate recruitment, college readiness services, and campus partnerships to help local high school students prepare for postsecondary education.

The role requires experience with high school students, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple programs and events, including weekend and summer obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must work one Saturday per month and significant summer obligations; weekend and evening work frequently required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate student recruitment and programming for grant-determined school district populations and events.
• Advise, tutor, or refer participants on college readiness, financial aid, health and wellness, and career services.
• Develop and implement academic year and summer programming in compliance with federal guidelines.
• Serve as on-site program liaison with school district personnel and partner offices.
