Job summary

Penn State University seeks a Program Advisor for Upward Bound Programs to support roughly 100 students at Reading High School. Office space at Penn State Berks will be shared with another Reading High UBP advisor.

The counselor will recruit, plan events, and develop academic-year and summer programs, ensuring alignment with federal guidelines and partnerships with schools and community partners. Evening/weekend hours and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Understand and articulate unit policies and federal grant guidelines in oral and written communication.
• Demonstrated experience in providing direct college preparation services to 9th- through 12th-grade students.
• Experience working with low-income, first-generation high school students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Recruit students and plan events for grant-determined school district population.
• Coordinate and implement academic year and summer programming aligned with federal guidelines.
• Develop partnerships with school districts, community partners, and campus offices.
