Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Program Advisor for the Upward Bound Programs (UBP) at Reading High School with Penn State Berks office space. You will help run social, educational, and service-learning activities for about 100 high school students and coordinate events with districts, partners, and campus offices.

The role includes recruitment, programming, and advising on college readiness, financial aid, health, and diversity and inclusion, plus supervising during summer programs abroad

Qualifications

• Understand and articulate unit policies and federal grant guidelines in oral and written communication.
• Experience delivering direct college preparation services to 9th–12th grade students.
• Experience working with low‑income, first‑generation high school students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing, developing, and implementing social, educational, and service-learning programs for participants.
• Recruit participants and plan program events for grant-determined populations and stakeholders.
• Advise, tutor, or refer participants on college readiness, financial aid, health and wellness, and academic advising.
• Develop academic year and summer programming in accordance with federal guidelines.
