Workday Internal Jobs Site for Students Position Title: Student Admin Support I Job Category: Student Hourly Job Profile: Student Help Job Summary: Through student employment at the VNSC, a student employee will learn holistic BALANCE between their academic INTEGRITY, professional, and personal GROWTH while learning skills including professionalism, leadership, INCLUSIVENESS, and COLLABORATION.

Office Assistants will be primarily responsible for performing general office tasks such as: greeting people who come into the office, answering the phone, making copies or posters, managing office sign-in sheets, and other duties as assigned.

Student employee will be required to work some evenings and weekends to assist with events put on by the center or department.

Job Duties:
  • Staff front desks within the department
  • Provide office support including, but not limited to answering phones, greeting walk-ins, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments with professional staff
  • Awareness of campus offices/programs and resources such as SS&E centers & offices, Advising, Student Support Services, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Career Services, Distance Learning, and other campus individuals and groups to assist students and make referrals as needed
  • Ensure the VNSC is clean according to set standards, clean areas occupied by other students right upon their departure, and furniture is in its proper location each shift.
  • Create Marketing for and promote upcoming events and programs to campus and the community
  • Update information in the VNSC and offices display boards
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
  • Maintain accurate records on VNSC programs and activities
  • Aid students in using all resources offered through the VNSC, SS&E, and the entire campus.
  • Meet regularly with supervisor(s) to discuss projects and duties
  • Assist with achieving the mission of the VNSC and SS&E
  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends for events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have good organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to relate to and work with diverse group of students, staff and faculty regardless of age, gender identity, sexual identity, nationality, race, ethnicity, physical ability, and educational background or position
  • Ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible
  • Respect and understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to work autonomously with supportive, but not constant, supervision
  • Familiarity with SS&E department and campus resources
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented and be able to work through problems by using all available resources
  • Must be Work-Study Eligible

Pay offered is $11/hour
