Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Student Associate (Work Study) in the Cockrell School of Engineering on UT campus. The position supports the Industry and Research Relations Office with accounting, clerical tasks, event support, and data handling. Immediate start; expected to continue through Dec 31, 2026.

The role is non-exempt, 10 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Applicants must be UT work-study eligible and able to work Monday through Friday 8am–5pm around class

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Finance Administration: Processing payment vouchers and assisting with account reconciliation.
• Administrative Support: Assist with electronic filing and document organization.
• Event Support: Assist with departmental events setup/tear-down and execution (e.g. catering, registration, signage).
• Other duties as assigned
