Job summary

The Blanton Museum of Art at UT Austin is seeking a Student Associate in Finance (work-study) to assist with routine administrative tasks within the Finance office. You will learn accounting basics while supporting department workflows under the Accounting Manager.

The role is open to UT Austin work-study students, requires enrollment in at least 6 credits for fall 2026 and spring 2027, and reports to the Accounting Manager. A February start is anticipated for the 2026-2027 year.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UT Austin undergraduate student in good standing enrolled in at least 6 credits during fall 2026 and spring 2027.
• Must have proof of current participation in the Work-Study program and be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.
• Maintain a positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Process departmental payments and deposits accurately.
• Deliver deposits to campus Bursar’s Office.
• Assist with electronic filing and document organization.
• Perform routine data entry and record maintenance.
• Respond to basic inquiries and direct requests to appropriate staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
• Perform other general office duties as assigned.
