Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a Student Account Specialist to join the Marion Campus Bursar Office. You will provide student account support, cashiering services, and frontline customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external partners, acting as the primary contact for the office.

This role emphasizes confidentiality and accuracy in processing payments, maintaining records, and supporting daily operations while collaborating with Financial Aid, Registrar, and other campus

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service experience with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment handling sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for student account inquiries and provide professional, accurate, timely assistance.
• Welcome and assist students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors while maintaining a positive customer service experience.
• Explain tuition and fee charges, billing statements, account activity, and payment options.
• Assist students with online account management including payments, refunds, and payment plans.
• Research, analyze, and resolve student account issues and account holds in accordance with policies.
• Balance and reconcile daily cashiering activity and prepare daily deposits.
• Maintain accurate student account records and ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
