The Ivy Tech Community College Marion Campus is seeking a Student Account Specialist to provide student account support, cashiering services, and frontline customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Key duties include handling inquiries, explaining charges, assisting with online account management, and ensuring transactions follow FERPA and internal controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Preferred: Associate degree and experience in higher education, finance, cashiering, or related operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for student account inquiries, providing accurate, timely assistance to students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Explain tuition and fee charges, billing statements, and the impact of financial aid on student accounts.
• Assist students with online account management, including payments, refunds, and payment plans.
• Process payments in person, online, and by mail and apply them to student accounts.
• Manage cashiering duties with accuracy and maintain compliance with policies.
• Balance cash drawers, reconcile daily activity, and prepare deposits.
• Review reports to identify and resolve account discrepancies and ensure FERPA compliance.
