Job summary

Houston City College is seeking a part-time Supervisor for Student Accounts to oversee cashiering operations, train staff, and ensure accurate handling of student balances across the campus. The role focuses on payments, inquiries, and regulatory compliance within the Business Office.

You will collaborate with IT and district offices to maintain software, generate reports, and resolve student account issues, supporting a high-volume service environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree plus 4 years directly related experience may be considered in lieu of required degree.
• 3 years cashiering experience as a bank teller or retail salesclerk required.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate courteously and effectively.
• MS Office Programs and Information Management Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, supervise, train, evaluate and manage Time & Labor activities – entering and approving time.
• Supervise and monitor the handling of student tuition payments and other payments.
• Provide support to students, faculty and staff regarding student balances and resolution of student concerns.
• Schedule staff to ensure office hours and coverage during advertised times.
• Supervise handling of student calls and inquiries from call centers.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures at location.
• Coordinate with IT for cashiering software and equipment.
• Maintain PCI-DSS regulatory compliance and generate reports as required.
