Job summary

Clinton Community College is seeking a Bursar to lead the Bursar's Office, ensuring accurate tuition, fees, and billing statements. You will supervise staff, manage reconciliations, and coordinate with IT on the student information system (CAMS).

You will advise students on payment options, oversee refunds and settlements, and support financial reporting and audits while maintaining strong internal controls and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• An associate’s degree in business administration, Accounting or Finance is required.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Not-for-profit accounting knowledge is desirable.
• Experience with student accounts, billing processes, and compliance with NYS rules is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the accuracy of student tuition, bookstore and fee accounts and oversees billing and receipts.
• Responsible for all student accounts and residency affirmations for NYS/County.
• Reconciles General Ledger accounts and maintains Bursar’s Office policies.
• Supervises staff and ensures excellent customer service and office coverage.
• Counsels students on payment options including plans and loans; assists with disputes.
• Chairs the tuition appeals committee and coordinates with IT on the SIS (CAMS).
• Supports financial reporting, audits, and internal controls; manages budget and third party billing.
