Job summary

Pellissippi State Community College seeks a Coordinator, Disability Services to coordinate accommodations for students with disabilities and ensure equal access in all programs. The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty and staff to meet student needs and adhere to ADA/Section 504 requirements.

The incumbent will provide direct services, manage documentation, and represent Disability Services at campus events, helping new and returning students transition smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with individuals with varying disabilities.
• Experience with psychological/psychiatric disorders, Autism Spectrum, and Veterans with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate support services for students with disabilities and develop accommodation strategies.
• Provide direct services to students (proctor, scribe, note-taker, alternate materials development, etc.) and adjust schedules.
• Maintain database by entering daily contacts and documentation; assist director with reports.
• Represent Disability Services at events on and off campus to assist incoming students.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise part-time interpreters, transcriptionists, note-takers, readers, scribes, etc.
• Assist director with workshops on disability issues and facilitation of student groups.
• Other duties as assigned to fulfill college priorities.
