Antares is seeking a Structures Engineer II in Los Angeles to design, analyze, and develop critical reactor structures. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety-significant components meet structural, thermal, and functional requirements from concept through deployment.

The ideal candidate has experience in regulated industries, proficiency with FEA tools, and a passion for solving complex engineering problems with durable hardware realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years designing, analyzing, and developing structural systems for demanding applications.
• Experience with structural design, hand calculations, materials, joints, load paths, and thermo-mechanical trade studies.
• Experience using FEA tools to evaluate structural performance, stress, deformation, fatigue, and thermal loading.
• Knowledge of structural design principles, materials, joints, and load paths.
• Ability to work on multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses to size, lay out, and optimize reactor structural components.
• Define system architecture, operating limits, design margins, and CONOPS for reliable performance.
• Develop calculations, specifications, interface definitions, design reports, and verifications for design reviews.
• Lead testing of components and systems, develop test articles, fixtures, instrumentation plans, and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing and procurement teams for integration.
• Support supplier evaluations, design reviews, and issue resolution during manufacturing and installation.
• Present work at design reviews and provide technical leadership through lifecycle.
