Job summary

Antares is hiring a Structures Engineer I/II to design and analyze critical reactor structures, including core restraint and heat exchanger supports. You will ensure performance across development, testing, and operation while working with cross-functional teams on first-of-a-kind hardware in a regulated setting.

The role emphasizes hands-on design and verification, collaboration with engineering teams, and advancing hardware from concept to deployment in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience designing structural systems for demanding engineering applications.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools and knowledge of design codes (ASME/NASA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses to size and optimize reactor structural components.
• Define system architecture, operating limits, design margins, and concepts of operation (CONOPS).
• Develop engineering documentation to support design reviews, verification, and licensing activities.
• Lead testing of components and systems with test articles, fixtures, instrumentation plans, and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing, and procurement teams to integrate structures into the reactor design.
• Support supplier selection, technical evaluations, design reviews, and issue resolution.
• Present technical work at design reviews and provide technical leadership across lifecycle.
