Job summary

Divergent in Los Angeles seeks a Structures Engineer to lead CAD modeling, FE analysis, and BOM management for Node-based aerospace structures across the product lifecycle. You will develop DFMEA and DVP, and ensure design changes are producible while coordinating with customers to align on requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mass, cost and manufacturability, support vehicle builds and testing, and document best practices for future programs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in structure design.
• CAD experience creating detailed models; Siemens NX is a plus.
• PLM experience; Teamcenter is a plus.
• Experience in structural analysis.
• Experience with Nastran, Optistruct, and/or LS-Dyna.
• Solid understanding of lightweight materials and solid mechanics.
• Experience with aerospace loads and MIL-STDs.
• Self-motivated with ability to meet tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage CAD designs and BOM structures.
• Build FE models for Node-based structures with validation.
• Present design summaries at meetings and with external parties.
• Develop technical solutions for automotive structures for external programs.
• Collaborate with DAPS Product Engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Implement cost reduction, methods, and product improvements; support prototyping and production builds.
• Maintain technical documentation and best practices.
