Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Staff Structures Engineer to lead complex structural design and analysis across aerospace vehicle programs. You will create and manage CAD and FE models, build BOMs, and perform advanced analyses to optimize lightweight structures.

You will mentor junior engineers, support manufacturing and prototype builds, and drive root-cause investigations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment in Torrance, California.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong CAD and FEA experience.
• Experience with aerospace loads, lightweight structures, and advanced materials.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis activities.
• Create and manage CAD models, FE models, and BOMs.
• Perform advanced structural analysis, optimization, and validation.
• Support manufacturing, testing, and prototype build activities.
• Drive root cause investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development.
