Job summary

DSI Tech is seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Solutions Architect to lead technical design from customer discussions and site surveys through BOM, SOW, and transition to the delivery team. This full-time, in-office role is based in Ashburn, Virginia with local candidates only and requires hands-on field knowledge.

You will conduct on-site surveys, design copper and fiber cabling solutions, develop BOMs, and prepare statements of work while supporting sales and estimation teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience with Cat6, Cat6A, single-mode and multimode fiber.
• Knowledge of MDF/IDF design, telecom rooms, racks, cabinets and pathways.
• Experience with site surveys translating field conditions into implementable design.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design of cabling solutions from customer conversations and site surveys through BOM, SOW and proposal support.
• Develop accurate Bills of Materials including cable, fiber, racks, cabinets, patch panels and enclosures.
• Prepare technical Statements of Work with scope, responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
• Create drawings, floor plans, cable schedules and diagrams using AutoCAD, Bluebeam or Visio.
• Review drawings, RFPs and specs to identify requirements, risks and clarifications.
• Handover designs to project managers and field teams after award and assist during installation.
