Job summary

DSI Tech is expanding its Structured Cabling practice and seeks an experienced Solutions Architect to lead technical design from initial customer conversation through BOM, SOW, and implementation handoff. You will survey sites, design copper and fiber solutions, and generate detailed materials and documentation.

The role requires on-site work in Ashburn, VA with a focus on MDF/IDF rooms, pathways, and data center cabling. Strong field assessment and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing and supporting structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Cat6, Cat6A, single-mode fiber, multimode fiber, backbone cabling, and horizontal cabling.
• Knowledge of MDF/IDF design, telecom rooms, racks, cabinets, patching, pathways, cable trays, conduit, grounding and bonding.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Visio for drawings and documentation.
• Current BICSI RCDD certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design of cabling solutions from customer discovery to BOM and SOW.
• Produce accurate Bills of Materials and support pricing estimates.
• Develop drawings, cable schedules, floor plans and rack elevations.
• Review drawings, RFPs and specs to identify requirements and risks.
• Present designs to customers and explain trade-offs and assumptions.
• Handoff projects to delivery teams after award and assist during installation.
