Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Structure Inspection Project Manager to grow our Virginia practice. The role leads NBIS-compliant inspection projects, mentors staff, and partners with clients to deliver high-quality results.

You will manage multi-asset inspections (bridges, tunnels, ancillary structures) using UAVs, 3D modeling, and NDT tech, while coordinating with engineers and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A PE license and 10+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license required; multi-state licensure preferred.
• 10+ years of NBIS/bridge inspection leadership experience.
• Current FHWA/NHI NBIS certifications and training.
• Experience delivering NBIS-compliant inspection projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge, tunnel, culvert, and ancillary structure inspection projects including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.
• Lead inspection teams, oversee field activities, report prep, and project deliverables.
• Prepare and review inspection reports and technical deliverables per standards.
• Apply inspection technologies (UAS/drones, 3D modeling, NDT) to improve delivery.
• Coordinate with structural staff to communicate findings and support load ratings.
• Monitor project financial performance, budgets, invoicing, and progress reporting.
• Mentor staff and support practice development and QA/QC.
• Support client relationships, proposals, and industry engagement.
