Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Structure Inspection Project Engineer to support our Virginia practice with a strong inspection background. The role involves leading field activities, mentoring junior staff, and growing the inspection practice while coordinating with engineering teams.

The candidate will oversee NBIS inspections, utilize drones and 3D modeling, and contribute to project planning, budgeting, and client communications. Travel up to 25% is expected across Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred; EIT with PE could be considered.
• 4+ years of bridge, tunnel, and/or structural inspection experience.
• NHI certification (NHI 130055) and refresher training.
• Experience leading inspection assignments or NBIS leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead NBIS team or lead inspector on bridge/tunnel/structure projects.
• Plan, coordinate, perform inspection activities and report development.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, field notes, sketches, and supporting docs.
