Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Structure Inspection Project Manager to lead our growing Virginia inspection practice. You will manage bridge, tunnel, and ancillary structure inspection projects, coordinate field teams, and deliver NBIS-compliant reports to clients.

Ideal candidates will have a PE license, 10+ years in structural inspection, and experience using UAS/drone tech, 3D modeling, and NDT methods to improve project delivery while mentoring staff and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive bridge, tunnel, and/or structural inspection experience.
• NBIS Team Leader or similar project leadership experience.
• NBIS, SNBI, AASHTO, FHWA, VDOT standards familiarity; regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge, tunnel, culvert, and ancillary structure inspection projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.
• Lead inspection teams and oversee field activities, report preparation, and deliverables for various structure types.
• Prepare, review, and approve inspection reports, field documentation, and technical deliverables per standards and regs.
• Apply inspection technologies and techniques (UAS/drones, 3D modeling, NDT) to improve delivery.
• Coordinate with structural engineering staff to communicate findings and develop recommended actions.
• Monitor project financial performance (budgets, tasks, invoicing, reporting).
• Serve as technical resource for inspection activities, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor staff through training, credential management, and field leadership.
• Support client relationships, business development, proposals, and industry engagement.
