Job summary

Armada Inc. in the San Diego area is seeking a Structural Foreman to oversee welding and fitting crews at shipyards and customer facilities. You will ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations while managing daily operations and safety on site.

The role requires strong SMAW and GMAW knowledge, ability to read blueprints, supervise trades, and control costs. You will train staff, set up equipment, review timesheets, and maintain quality across projects on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal or informal on-the-job training considered.
• OSHA 10 Maritime Standards certification preferred or provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures
• Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required
• Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, weld wire, gases, and fixtures
• Inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality
• Trains workers in operation of equipment
• Set up machines and make trial welds
• Supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames
• Ensure that equipment is being properly handled, protected and maintained
• Prepare records and reports about subordinates and tasks being carried out on the project
• Work with prescribed budgets and maintain job cost control
• Review and submit timesheets for assigned crew
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
