Job summary

Atlas NextWave in the United States seeks a Welding Foreman to coordinate department activities across new ship construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects, providing on-site direction and ensuring safety, quality and on-schedule delivery.

The foreman will supervise welding crews across a 63-acre facility with multiple fab shops and waterfront operations, reading blueprints and engineering drawings to plan materials and task sequences.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of welding methods.
• Structural fabrication experience.
• Weld prep and installation procedures.
• Ability to read structural and shipbuilding drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.

SUMMARY

The foreman coordinates welding department activities across new ship construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects, giving on-site direction by tracking progress, guiding crews, holding people accountable, upholding quality standards, and keeping projects on schedule. The work covers the whole yard: supervising weld activities and schedules across a 63-acre facility where heavy manufacturing happens in several fab shops and on the waterfront, supporting a workforce of more than 1,000.
