Job summary

Labor One Staffing in San Diego is seeking shipyard structural welders to join the fabrication team. You will weld vessels, tanks, and structural assemblies in various shipyard settings, adhering to FCAW processes and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must qualify in two gas shielded FCAW welding processes 71T-1 and 811N3 in three positions.
• Knowledge of welding characteristics of metal.
• Must read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Weld parts for vessels, tanks or structural assemblies in proper position.
• Use carbon electrodes to cut, shape and groove metal as required.
• Prepare work area for welding by cleaning and preheating when needed.
• Inspect weld sizes and bead quality to meet specifications.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping in the welding area.
