Tate in Glasgow, KY is seeking an experienced Welder to perform measurements, cutting, and assembly of metal products, including truss construction for various applications. You will collaborate across design and production teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • AWS Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural welding.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Detail oriented, efficient, able to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions (written, oral, diagrams, schedules).
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Able to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Work near moving machinery; handle parts safely.

Responsibilities

  • Select, measure, cut, and join metals to specifications.
  • Prepare metals and surfaces for safe assembly.
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Regularly inspect welding equipment and tools.
  • Determine gas ratios for welding processes.
  • Test strength of joins during and after projects.
  • Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Report defective materials or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional duties as production requires.
