Job summary

Valmont Industries in Jasper, TN is seeking a metal fabricator/welder associate to layout, align, and weld metal components for utility poles and engineered structures. You will read blueprints, perform precise welds, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, fitting components, operating welding equipment, and meeting production deadlines while maintaining a safe, outdoor/indoor shop environment. 1G weld test required; AWS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Successfully complete a 1G weld test.
• Read and interpret blueprints for accurate fit-up.
• Proficient in basic math and measurement systems.
• Proficient tape measure skills for reading and applying measurements.
• Understand quality standards and production requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, align, and weld fabricated metal components for utility poles and related structures.
• Interpret blueprints and fit components accurately for welding.
• Perform welding tasks following safety standards and procedures.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices to ensure precision and quality.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency to meet production deadlines.
• Operate welding equipment and safety devices, wearing PPE.
• Prepare components for welding by fitting them in ready-to-weld condition.
• Support safety programs and follow company safety policies.
