Whirlwind Steel is seeking an experienced Structural Welder for the night shift to weld structural steel components using FCAW, following welding specifications and AWS D1.1 standards. The role requires reading shop details and operating cranes safely, with a focus on quality and production goals.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, current welding certification, and at least 2 years of structural welding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding certification is required and current.
• Minimum 2 years of structural welding experience.
• Experience with FCAW welding.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
• Overhead cranes experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop details to determine welding requirements.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment per specifications.
• Perform FCAW welding in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
