Job summary

Ironworksweldinginc in Dickinson, ND is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to perform high-quality cuts and welds on gates, pressure vessels, cattle guards and structural steel assemblies, working from engineering drawings and weld procedures.

You will prepare joints, weld in multiple positions, read drawings, maintain welder qualifications, and keep a clean, safe shop environment while meeting production schedules.

Qualifications

• Must pass a weld test.
• Must read measurements and perform basic math for tolerances.
• Able to stand, walk, bend and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as production schedules or customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit-up and weld pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, cattle guards, etc.
• Prepare weld joints to proper dimensions, including grinding, gouging and cleaning to ensure sound weld quality
• Weld structural and process piping in multiple positions
• Fit and tack pipe spools, install flanges, elbows, tees, and other fittings per drawings
• Fabricate and weld structural steel assemblies including frames, skids, platforms, ladders, handrails, brackets and supports
• Perform fit-up and assembly of structural members using squares, levels, clamps and fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Support hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and NDE activities as required
• Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks on completed work prior to QC inspection
• Maintain welder qualification records and perform continuity welds as required to keep qualification current
• Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment; maintain safe, organized shop environment
• Follow safety policies and supervisor directions
• Arrive prepared for shift; work flexible hours as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management
