Job summary

Fisher Industries in Dickinson, ND seeks a Fabrication Welder – Stainless Steel to join our shop team. You will weld stainless steel with GMAW and GTAW, read blueprints, and assemble equipment to spec.

This safety-sensitive, hourly role reports to the Area Shop Foreman and will involve precise fabrication work on a variety of projects. A sign-on bonus is offered after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform stainless steel welding using GMAW and GTAW.
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to fabricate components.
• Measure, cut and prepare materials (bend, cut, drill, tap, etc).
• Assemble mechanical components and fabricated parts to meet design specifications.
• Perform proper fit-up alignment, and tacking prior to final welding.
• Conduct leak test on pressure equipment, tanks or vessels.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently including overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
• Wearing safety clothing and using protective equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Welder – Stainless Steel will be responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques, often to form new structures. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical plans created by other construction professionals. The Fabrication Welder is a safety sensitive position that works primarily on new equipment assembly.

This is an hourly position that reports directly to the Area Shop Foreman.
